 Join the Doula Program

The Sydney Doula Program supports young women who are under-resourced by providing compassionate guidance, education, and practical support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period. Many young mothers face barriers such as limited access to healthcare information, financial constraints, or a lack of supportive networks. Through mentorship, birth education, and continuous emotional support, the program empowers these women to make informed decisions about their bodies and their babies. By fostering confidence, connection, and advocacy within the healthcare system, the Sydney Doula Program helps ensure that young women feel heard, supported, and capable during one of the most important transitions in their lives.

Being a doula with Lotus Health Foundation creates opportunities to support women who might otherwise not be able to access birth support services. Through a program that funds free doula care, women experiencing financial hardship or limited support networks can receive continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. This program helps reduce barriers to care and ensures that every woman, regardless of her circumstances, has access to compassionate and respectful support during childbirth. By providing funded doula services, Lotus Health Foundation empowers women to feel confident, informed, and supported, while also helping improve birth experiences and overall wellbeing for mothers and their families.

Joining the Lotus Health Foundation as a doula offers a meaningful opportunity to support women and families across a range of life circumstances. The foundation connects doulas with private clients, NDIS participants, and women who may need additional support but have limited resources. By becoming part of the foundation, doulas contribute to a model of care that prioritises compassion, informed choice, and accessible support during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
For private clients, doulas within the foundation provide personalised care that focuses on emotional support, education, and advocacy throughout the birthing journey. Many families seek doula support to feel more prepared, confident, and supported during pregnancy and labour. Through antenatal preparation, continuous labour support, and postnatal care, doulas help create a calm and empowering environment where women feel heard and respected in their choices.

The foundation also works with NDIS participants who may require additional support during pregnancy, birth, or early motherhood. Some women living with disability benefit greatly from a doula who can provide consistent guidance, help navigate the healthcare system, and offer practical and emotional support. By working alongside healthcare providers and support teams, doulas help ensure that these women have a safe, respectful, and supportive birth experience.
In addition to private and NDIS clients, the Lotus Health Foundation is committed to supporting women who may otherwise be unable to access doula services due to financial or social barriers. Through funded programs and community initiatives, the foundation helps provide free or subsidised support for women who are under-resourced, young, or lacking a strong support network.

Doulas involved in these programs play an important role in promoting equity in maternal care and ensuring that every woman has access to respectful and compassionate support.
Being part of the Lotus Health Foundation allows doulas to work within a supportive community of professionals who are dedicated to improving maternal wellbeing. It offers opportunities for collaboration, professional growth, and meaningful impact within the community. Most importantly, it allows doulas to extend their care to women who need it most, helping create safer, more supported, and more empowering birth experiences for all families.
