Lotus Health Foundation Doula Program
The Lotus Health Foundation Doula Program exists to support families on low incomes to access compassionate, continuous doula care during pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period.
We believe every family deserves to feel supported, informed, and held during this transformative time — regardless of financial circumstances. Through this program, the Foundation connects eligible families with trained doulas who provide antenatal and postnatal support, helping to reduce stress, improve wellbeing, and strengthen confidence during early parenthood.

What the Program Offers
Families accepted into the program may receive:
-
Antenatal doula support during pregnancy
-
Emotional, practical, and informational care
-
Postnatal doula support in the early weeks after birth
-
Continuity of care tailored to each family’s needs
-
Support may include education, advocacy, emotional reassurance, practical guidance, and help navigating early parenthood — always delivered with respect, cultural sensitivity, and care.
Why This Program Matters
Pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period can be particularly challenging for families experiencing financial pressure or limited support. Access to a doula has been shown to:
-
Reduce stress and anxiety
-
Increase feelings of safety and confidence
-
Support positive birth and postnatal experiences
-
Strengthen family wellbeing during a critical life transition
This program aims to reduce inequity in access to care and ensure support is available where it is needed most.
Community & Impact
The Doula Program is made possible through fundraising, partnerships, and the support of the wider community. By participating in Lotus Health Foundation workshops or making a contribution, you are directly supporting families to receive care they might otherwise be unable to access.
